AID for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) hosts the 20th Annual AIDS Walk Las Vegas at the World Market Center on Sunday, Apr. 25. The famous duo, Penn & Teller serves as Grand Marshals and will host the Penn & Teller Challenge as their AIDS Walk team.
“We are thrilled to host the 20th Annual AIDS Walk Las Vegas and honored to have Penn & Teller on board for what is sure to be the best year yet,” said Executive Director of AFAN, Jennifer Morss. “The Walk is a testament to how eager the community is to join the fight against HIV/AIDS, raise funds and increase awareness. The relationship with Penn & Teller is very valuable to AFAN, and we are grateful for their constant support and commitment to the AIDS Walk and to this organization.”
The AIDS Walk serves as AFAN’s largest fundraiser of the year, providing funds for programs to assist and educate more than 3,000 men, women and children infected with HIV and AIDS in southern Nevada. Participants may register as individuals, join an existing team, or start their own team. Participants’ fundraising efforts will make them eligible for dynamic incentives and prizes. In addition, the Penn & Teller Challenge promises to match all monetary funds raised by pledges and donations to AFAN. This challenge raised more than $120,000 in 2009.
