In Vegas, there’s a show just about everywhere, including your taxi cab.
Daniel Mann is a Las Vegas cab driver who juggles, dances and tells jokes to entertain passengers. His impromptu shows pop up in taxi lines, parking lots and sometimes in the middle of the street.
On a recent pickup, Mann was surprised at the Plaza Hotel with a Hospitality Hero award. The awards are given by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) during National Travel and Tourism Week to tourism industry employees who are nominated by their supervisors. The Hospitality Hero awards recognize the front line hospitality workers who make the Las Vegas tourism industry the best in the world.
Mann thought he was simply picking up a fare and was genuinely stunned when he pulled up and saw LVCVA Host Committee Chairman Oscar Goodman and two showgirls waiting for him. Mann accepted the award and then began entertaining the crowd that had gathered around him. After dancing and juggling, he told the crowd how honored he was to be given this award and it was a dream come true to meet Goodman.
The LVCVA is presenting nearly 60 awards over the next two weeks.
