Jeff Civillico Makes His Move
Comedy In Action star Jeff Civillico has announced his show will stay permanently at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino. After a temporary summer residency at the famed hotel, Civillico has made a calculated decision to call the mid-Strip property home for the long term.
It’s been several years since the physical comedian/juggler began performing at the Planet Hollywood restaurant at Caesars Palace Forum Shops. After opening at the Imperial Palace a couple years ago, he built a solid following and earned critical reviews with his family-friendly show. Most recently, Comedy In Action was the afternoon option at the Linq Hotel & Casino, in a second floor theater now home to America’s Got Talent winner, magician Mat Franco.
As part of the final hotel transformation, the theater would require several months of construction to refit the venue to accommodate new shows and flexible meeting space. During the summer renovation of the theater, Civillico was faced with several scenarios; no summer performances, a temporary converted Linq ballroom, or a potential move to another Caesars Entertainment property. According to Jeff, Bugsy’s Cabaret was a perfect fit for his show.
“Bugsy’s Cabaret is a killer room for comedy, and although I will certainly miss my friends at The LINQ, I believe this is a better fit for me all around moving forward,” said Jeff.
And for the summer months, he wanted to capitalize on the busy tourist season. In our phone conversation with the performer, he acknowledged that it was a showroom he had always considered ideal for his show. In addition, the Flamingo Hotel has great brand and name recognition worldwide, which makes it easier to promote when he’s on the road.
With the success of the summer residency, his Comedy In Action show will stay permanently at the Flamingo Hotel. Hotel executives weighed in on the decision.
“We are thrilled to have Jeff perform at the Flamingo. It is so great to see the amazing energy that he brings in a room, and the intimate seating inside Bugsy’s really allows our guests to feel like they are part of the action,” said Damian Costa, Caesars Entertainment, Regional Director of Entertainment Operations, Las Vegas.
Jeff Civillico Time Change
In addition to the venue change, the show will also move from a 2:00pm & 4:00pm afternoon spot to an early evening 5:30pm time. In sharing the showroom with several other shows, Jeff’s new showtime allows the venue to maximize production operations and efficiency. The hotel can now offer a continuous show schedule beginning with his family-friendly show at 5:30pm, to X Comedy: Uncensored Fun at 8:00pm and ending with the adult-revue X Burlesque at 10:00pm. “It’s a win-win for everyone—no pun intended,” says Jeff referring to his non-profit Win-Win Entertainment.
“We are thrilled to have Jeff Civillico join us at The Flamingo! His show perfectly entertains the whole family,” said Eileen Moore, Caesars Entertainment, Regional President of Flamingo, LINQ, & Cromwell Casino Resorts.
Whether he’s performing afternoons, early evening, or night shows, Jeff’s ultimate goal with this move is to be in a venue and time slot for a long, consistent run. He’s been through 5 re-branding and re-marketing efforts for his show due to time changes, venue changes, and hotel name changes (The Linq was previously known as The Quad for a short time).
If you’re trying to follow along, here’s a recap of the changes:
- Imperial Palace 2pm to
- Quad 2pm to
- Quad 4pm to
- LINQ 4pm to
- Flamingo 2 & 4pm to
- Flamingo 5:30pm.
The biggest challenge he faces is consistency in his marketing to ensure ticket brokers can sell tickets and visitors can find his show. But with Jeff’s business acumen and support from the hotel, there’s no doubt he’ll be keeping things up in the air for a long time.
“The Flamingo is such an iconic hotel, and the support from the hotel and Caesars Entertainment has been wonderful,” adds Jeff.
